THE PREPARATION GUIDE

Important Appointment Information

Read our essential preparation rules and stain guidelines to guarantee the most rich results.

01 Planning & Scheduling

  • Prior booking is required — To secure Veena’s availability.
  • Bridal Timing — Bridal henna should ideally be applied 2–3 days prior to your wedding ceremony to allow the stain to mature.
  • Fresh Batches — Henna paste is mixed fresh specifically for your appointment.
  • Stain Lifespan — Natural henna stains last between 5–7 days before gradually fading away as skin cells exfoliate.
  • Manicures & Treatments — Completion of waxing, manicure, and pedicure is required at least 24 hours prior to henna application.

02 Skin Prep & Comfort

  • Clean Skin — Ensure hands and feet are washed thoroughly and are free from body lotions, tanning sprays, oils, or moisturizers.
  • Serene Setting — Have a meal before your session. Bridal sittings can take between 2 to 5 hours.
  • Comfortable Attire — Wear dark, loose clothing (sleeveless or short sleeves if applying henna on arms, and loose shorts/skirts if applying on feet).
  • Support Setup — Bridal clients will require assistance for tasks if both hands are completely wrapped in paste.

03 Aftercare & White Henna

  • Natural Drying — Allow the wet paste to dry naturally (takes 20-30 minutes).
  • Dwell Time — Keep the dry paste on the skin for at least 6-8 hours (ideally overnight) to allow maximum dye transfer.
  • No Water Removal — Scrape the dry paste off; do not wash it off with water. Keep dry for the first 24 hours.
  • Oxidation Stages — The stain is initially bright orange, gradually darkening into a deep reddish-brown over 24-48 hours.
  • White Henna Care — Applied shortly before the event. It does not stain, is water-resistant, and can be peeled or washed off with soap.
